There is an easy and reasonable way of adding class to any bedroom - just add a canopy bed! Canopy beds may seem difficult to make or expensive to buy, but if you know how to do some improvisation and look for the best deals, you can have your very own in no time at all.
Who says you have to spend thousands of dollars to perceive the luxury of a canopy? Just setup curtain rods on each end of the bed, hang soft fabrics, and you already have a canopy effect. If you want a makeshift canopy that lasts longer, you can get a short rod to the ceiling (perpendicular to the head of the bed on both sides). Hang long fabric panels (they should preferably reach the floor), and just tie the fabric back with a nice ribbon or a specially made drapery tieback.
You can also create your own crown canopy by simply cutting a half-circle of three-quarters of an inch of plywood (this is just the right thickness - it's still surely installable and yet sturdy enough). Attach fabric panels around the outer edge of the plywood. You can then setup the crown canopy by whether attaching it directly onto the ceiling or securing it to the walls using L-brackets.
Don't have time to do all this handiwork? There's an even easier version of a canopy bed - and you only need hooks and fabrics to do it. simply attach a wooden or metal ring to the ceiling above the bed's center. Then drape long fabric panels straight through it, and pull both ends down to the floor on both sides of the bed. Make sure you attach the ring firmly so that it can hold the weight of fabric, though - you don't want all falling on you while you sleep.
There are other ways to create a canopy bed corollary without surely purchasing a canopy bed. Let your imagination guide you and you will never go wrong!
