A good sleep is very important to both kids and grown-ups alike. At the end of every day, everyone wishes to come home and sleep peacefully on a comfortable bed after a stressful and tiring day at work. Sleep is one way for an individual to recharge and get a revived corporeal and thinking force to continue on with the possible challenges that a new day could bring.
Comfort, for others, is not merely felt. Other population senses comfort at first sight. This is where the individual can already taste dreamland just by looking. This is why dissimilar types of bed are crafted.
Sleigh beds have been colse to for centuries and are probably one of the most renowned types of bed to date. Its shape and appearance is originated from that of a sleigh, hence the name, sleigh bed. It is most of the time made of wood and looks pretty heavy in form, with its foot and head boards curved or scrolled. It said to be a stock of the French and American Empire in the 1800s and gives a sense of royalty and class.
Nowadays, sleigh beds can also be made of iron, steel and aluminum, and can sometimes be upholstered.
Another base type of bed is the canopy bed. Canopy beds are known for its modest to none detail on the foot and head boards. In the earlier times, this type of bed are used more for practical means by base population looking for added shelter above their heads when there is no roof available. Beds of this type with curtains, however, were used by lords and noblemen in medieval Europe for warmth and privacy because they regularly share the same room with their staff members. Now, there are even two types of canopy beds: the original and the contemporary canopy beds. The original bed is adorned with heavy curtains for a more Victorian look, whereas, the contemporary bed looks cleaner and simpler.
Lastly, also known as the hydrostatic bed, the water bed was invented in the early 1800s as stoppage from bedsores to the paralyzed. The water bed consists of a water-containing mattress, a rectangular frame (either soft - sided or hard - sided) and a platform. Originally, the mattress used for this type of bed has a singular water chamber, called free-flow mattress, but a movement could de facto be felt in just an easy shift of position. Soon after, the wave-less mattress was invented, where the mattress has a blend of interconnected air and water chambers. Wave-less mattress is determined to be more high-priced than that of the free flow mattress.
